In 1979, in the early days of Fiber Optics, Diamond developed their first connector for PTT in Switzerland (today's Swisscom), already using a two component ferrule and a micromanipulator to center the fiber inside the connector. With this method, an 0,5 dB Insertion Loss was achieved: an unequalled performance at that time.
Later on, Diamond created the first push-pull connector with integrated dust cap: the famous E-2000™ connector. 100% quality control, the Active Core Alignment technique, two component ferrules, maximum insertion loss of 0,10 dB, minimum return loss of 85 dB, high power connectors, polarization maintaining connectors, customized connectors: Diamond's unique positioning and excellent connector performances have contributed to their success in the telecommunication market.
