The history of Diamond SA began in 1958, with the precision machining of ultra-hard materials, such as ruby, sapphire, tungsten carbide and diamond, all used in the production of high-precision technical components. The experience gained in these endeavors formed the basis of the company’s expertise in precision machining and volume production, expertise which Diamond has systematically expanded and perfected over the years. In 1979, the demand for diversification led Diamond into the exciting, growth-intensive field of fiber optics, where the company quickly established itself as an internationally renowned innovator in the industry.
We assemble our components to create finished products and a wide range of cable assemblies. We are able to manufacture and prefabricate products using different optical fibers and ferrule technologies according to customer requirements. Diamond uses a unique two-component connector ferrule, comprising of a high-precision ceramic ferrule with a titanium insert. This unique ferrule, together with Diamond’s patented Active Core Alignment process, precisely aligns the fiber core to the axis of the ferrule to reduce Insertion Loss values to a minimum. This special process enables Diamond to ensure high-performance in all its products.
We can all agree that quality is of the utmost importance in fiber optics. In a transmission medium thinner than a human hair, where tolerances are measured in microns and nanometers, absolute precision is paramount. Our products and processes have been governed by a quality management system certified to ISO 9001 since 1994. Diamond’s suppliers are also required to comply with the QMS, ensuring continuous quality from raw material to finished product. Our management, production and inspection processes are also subject to rigorous quality assurance standards. In addition, our testing laboratory is internationally accredited to ISO / IEC 17025 and certified by the Swiss Accreditation Service (SAS).
