    E-2000® Interconnect Family

Reliability with performance and versatility for a wide range of applications

The unparalleled mechanical and optical interface of the E-2000® connector family makes it an ideal choice for many applications. Diamond’s two-component ferrule includes, a zirconium-ceramic sleeve and a titanium insert, that allows for the centering of the fiber core with the mechanical axis of the ferrule. This unique process is called Active Core Alignment (ACA) and separates us from the competition. In addition, changeable colored and/or mechanically coded housing frames and latches provide clear and secure identification of the transition lines. Our E-2000® connectors can be sterilized in accordance with EtO, and can optionally be fitted with an O-ring seal in accordance with ingress protection class IP65.

Active Core Alignment

Diamond uses a unique composite ferrule, consisting of high-quality zirconia and a titanium insert for its connectors. Together with Diamond’s patented Active Core Alignment (ACA) process, which perfectly centers the fiber core on the axis of the ferrule, the insertion loss values are reduced to a minimum. By controlling the tolerances of fiber core eccentricity and angular misalignment, Diamond is able to determine an optical performance class with guaranteed attenuation values within the 0.1db class and also applies to any randomly combined connectors of this quality class.
